Gunthor Darklyn
Gunthor Darklyn was Lord of Valle Oscuro and head of his house during the years of the Dance of the Dragons, the succession war that split the Targaryen realm in two.
His name is tied to the black faction: he was among the first lords to back Princess Rhaenyra's claim to the Iron Throne.

Rhaenyra TargaryenGunthor Darklyn led a house that already had a presence at court: his uncle, Ser Steffon Darklyn, served in the Kingsguard. When King Viserys I Targaryen died, Gunthor sided with Princess Rhaenyra against her half-brother's claim.
He joined the group of lords who made up the Black Council, the body that upheld the princess's cause at Dragonstone.
