Marlow
Marlow was a septa of the Faith of the Seven in service to House Targaryen during the reign of Viserys I, responsible for the education of the young Rhaenyra Targaryen.
She is barely known through her own words: she appears only through what her pupils say of her, an authority that Rhaenyra enjoys defying during her history lessons.

Rhaenyra TargaryenDuring a lesson on the arrival of the Rhoynar in Dorne, Alicent Hightower asks Rhaenyra which lord Nymeria married upon landing. Alicent warns that Septa Marlow would be upset if Rhaenyra gave her usual joking answer, "Lord Whatshisname," but Rhaenyra replies that the septa's reaction is exactly what amuses her about it.
When Rhaenyra finally gives the correct name, Lord Mors Martell, she tears a page from the book and hands it to Alicent as a trophy. Alicent brings up the septa's name again, and Rhaenyra ends the exchange with a dismissive remark about her.
