House Brownhill
Casa Brownhill
House Brownhill belonged to the handful of lineages that, settled along the Greenblood river and Dorne's eastern coast, proclaimed themselves High Kings long before the Andals ever set foot in the region. It was one of the Twelve Royal Houses of Dorne, its crown resting on nothing more than First Men blood.
Chapter 1
The high kings of the Greenblood
Books only
Before the Andals crossed the narrow sea, twelve houses divided the banks of the Greenblood and Dorne's eastern coast between them, each claiming the title of High King for its lord. House Brownhill was one of those twelve.
That crowded arrangement of crowns ended in war among the river lineages themselves. Where the Brownhills stood in that struggle is not recorded: the chronicles mention three houses wiped out in the fighting and others that carved out kingdoms of their own, without saying which side the Brownhills belonged to.
