House Fenn
Casa Fenn
In the Neck, House Fenn answers to House Reed, the rulers of that country of bogs and marshes. Beyond those waters almost no one calls them by their own name: the nicknames they carry — lake-men, frog-eaters, mud men, swamp demons — say as much about them as about the ground they live on.
Chapter 1
Vassals of the bog
Books only
House Fenn makes its home in the Neck, the stretch of bogs and marshes separating the north from the rest of Westeros, and it serves House Reed, the lords of that country.
Beyond the Neck almost no one calls them by their own name. They are known as lake-men, frog-eaters, mud men, or swamp demons, nicknames that mix mockery with respect for people who know the bog better than any outsider.
Chapter 2
Three water lilies
Books only
No fully certain source describes the Fenn coat of arms, but semi-canonical records give them a pale purple field bearing three sable water lilies.
It is a device that fits their country: a pond flower rather than a beast or a weapon, fitting for a minor house of the Neck's marshes.
