Sallydance
Danza de Sally
Sallydance is a small village in the Riverlands, on the banks of the Red Fork, little more than a handful of houses around a septry with stained-glass windows.
Its name is tied to destruction: first the fire of a dragon centuries earlier, and later the plunder of a war much closer to living memory, both leaving it blackened and burned.
Chapter 1
Vhagar's fire
Books only
During the Dance of the Dragons, the village paid the price for the riverlords' loyalty to Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. Prince Aemond Targaryen, riding the dragon Vhagar, fell upon Sallydance as punishment for that support, and the flames left the place in ruins.
Chapter 2
The ashes of war

Generations later, war came to Sallydance again. During the War of the Five Kings, a band of northmen hunting for Ser Jaime Lannister sacked the village, smashed the septry and its figures of the Seven, and carried off anything of value before setting fire to what remained.
Arya Stark and the Brotherhood Without Banners came looking for Lord Beric Dondarrion's whereabouts, following what the Lady of the Leaves had told them. They found a blackened, empty village and spent the night sheltering in the ruined septry.
