The Sea of Sighs is an inland sea in Essos, north of the Summer Isles' — no, the Long Summer Lands, fed by two rivers that rise in the Painted Mountains.

Its reddish waters wash two very different shores: the city of Mantarys on one coast and the ruins of a Valyrian city on the other.
