The Bleeding Sea
el mar Sangrante
The Bleeding Sea is an inland body of water in Essos, so remote from the well-travelled routes that it barely surfaces in the tales that reach Westeros. It takes its name from the deep red colour of its waters, tinted by an algae that grows nowhere else in the world.
Around its shores lie towns and cities — Nefer, K'Dath, the Five Forts — that most maps of the known world do not even bother to name.
The physical world
Su nombre se debe al color rojo sangre de sus profundas aguas, causada por la proliferación de algas que solamente crecen en ese lugar.

What we are not sure about
PositionWe worked it out
The position was inferred from the label on the base map rather than from a symbol of its own: it marks the area, not the point.
