The Forest of Qohor
el Bosque de Qohor
The Forest of Qohor is the largest stretch of woodland in Essos, a dark green mantle running between the Free City of Norvos and the Dothraki Sea, reaching north all the way to the Shivering Sea. From its depths, never fully charted even by the maesters of the Citadel, comes the timber, furs and ore that built the fortune of Qohor, the city that lends the forest its name.
Crossing it on horseback takes close to two weeks, and those who have ridden through it speak of trees as wide as city gates and a golden canopy overhead. Whole khalasars have passed beneath those branches, and still no one can claim to know everything the forest hides.
Chapter 1
The khalasar that saw no beasts
Books only
When Daenerys Targaryen rode with Khal Drogo's khalasar toward Vaes Dothrak to be presented before the crones of the dosh khaleen, their path took them through the Forest of Qohor. The crossing took half a moon.
Daenerys had heard tales of the creatures said to live among those trees, but she never saw one: the khalasar's approach was enough to send them fleeing long before it drew near.
Chapter 2
Zekko's refuge
Books only
Years later, the forest gave shelter to Khal Zekko's khalasar, which hid among its trees while fleeing Khal Pono's khalasar.
The physical world
Entre la fauna del bosque hay alces gigantes y ciervos, lobos, gatos arbóreos, jabalíes de tamaños monstruosos, osos manchados, tigres moteados e incluso lemures plateados de grandes ojos color púrpura.

PositionWe worked it out
The position was inferred from the label on the base map rather than from a symbol of its own: it marks the area, not the point.
