Weeping Town

Villallorosa

Weeping Town is a port city on the southern coast of the Cape of Wrath, in the Stormlands, facing the Sea of Dorne.

Its harbor handles much of the merchant traffic along that stretch of coast, and the city's name preserves the memory of a Targaryen king whose body once passed through its streets on the way to the capital.

Chapter 1

A harbor by the Weeping Tower

Books only

The city stands by the Weeping Tower and serves as the seat of House Whitehead. Nearby stands a castle whose name and lords have never been recorded.

Its harbor draws in most of the merchant shipping that works this stretch of the Stormlands coast, and the town is large enough to hold three inns at once: the Broken Shield, the Madman, and the Drunken Dornishman.

Chapter 2

The mourning that named it

Books only

The city's name comes not from its founding but from grief that wasn't originally its own: when King Daeron I Targaryen's body was carried through its streets toward the capital after his death in Dorne, the shock of the townsfolk stayed bound to the place forever after.

The king's remains rested there for three days before continuing on, and that public mourning ended up naming the whole town.

The physical world

Existe un castillo en sus alrededores, aunque se desconoce su nombre y sus ocupantes.
