Dim Dalba
On this tab
Dim Dalba is an old warrior of the Free Folk and one of the leaders Mance Rayder gathered to cross the Wall. After that army's defeat, he led his followers to Hardhome, and in time became one of the voices that mattered when the Free Folk had to decide whether to trust Jon Snow.
Hardhome
Retreat to Hardhome
Dim Dalba was one of the notable leaders of the Free Folk army that Mance Rayder led against the Wall, a raider and warrior with years of experience among his people. When that force was defeated at the battle of Castle Black, he did not give up: he gathered what survivors he could and led them north, to the relative safety of Hardhome.

Hardhome Massacre
At Hardhome, Dim Dalba listened to Jon Snow explain why he had crossed the sea looking for the wildlings: he wanted them to join the Night's Watch against a threat greater than any war between them. Dim Dalba watched the proof Jon presented, a shard of dragonglass, and decided he would join Tormund and travel with him to Castle Black.
He never got the chance to leave in time: Hardhome was attacked by the White Walkers and the army of the dead commanded by the Night King, and Dim Dalba was there when it happened.

Gift
Alliance Against the Boltons
After the fall of Hardhome, Dim Dalba became one of the leaders of the Free Folk settled at the Gift, the lands granted near Castle Black. When Jon Snow asked for wildling help against House Bolton, Dim Dalba was against it at first: he feared another defeat could finish off what was left of his people.
Tormund reminded him that the Free Folk owed Jon their lives, and Dim Dalba eventually gave in. Together with Wun Wun, he agreed to bring his people into the march against the Boltons.
