Soren
Soren Shieldbreaker is a free folk warrior, one of the chieftains who follows Tormund Giantsbane and whose name carries the weight of his own axe. He is among the first wildlings to cross the Wall when Tormund strikes a peace with Jon Snow, and one of the few chieftains Jon trusts with command of an abandoned Night's Watch castle.
His history in the Atlas is short but consistent: he keeps turning up beside Jon Snow, first swearing him his axe, then volunteering when almost no one else does.

TormundWhen Tormund Giantsbane brings his chieftains to the Wall to strike a truce with the Night's Watch, Soren Shieldbreaker is among them. Among the hostages who cross first, sons of the free folk's most important men, is one of his own, a tall boy Tormund points out to the stewards counting the children.
When the warriors cross afterward, none of them kneel to Jon Snow, but several swear him oaths in their own way. Soren dips his head just enough and offers him his axe, should Jon ever need it.
Chapter 2
Commander of Puertapiedra
Books only
Jon decides to spread the wildling chieftains among the Wall's empty castles, and Soren is given Puertapiedra. Othell Yarwyck objects: the place is too remote, and no one will know what Soren is up to in those distant hills. Borroq, with his boar, settles in alongside him.
Chapter 3
The one who stood up
Books only
Ramsay BoltonJon had meant to lead the rescue of Mother Mole and the wildlings sheltering at Casa Austera himself, but Ramsay Bolton's Pink Letter turns him toward Winterfell instead. In the dining hall at Castle Black he announces that he will not ask his brothers to break their vows, and that he will go alone unless someone chooses to come with him. Soren Shieldbreaker is one of the wildlings who stands up.
