House Borrell of Sweetsister

Casa Borrell de Hermana Dulce

House Borrell rules Sweetsister, the smallest of the Three Sisters in the Vale of Arryn, from Breakwater castle, and answers as a vassal to House Sunderland. Their arms show a white spider crab on a green field, and for thousands of years their members have been born with three fingers of the right hand joined by webbing, a mark of blood found in this family and no other in the Vale.

Their name is tied to one of the great Targaryen dynastic wars, when the lord of Sweetsister took a side in the dispute over the Iron Throne.

Chapter 1

The support for Rhaenyra

Books only

In this chapterRhaenyra Targaryen

When the realm split between two Targaryen claimants, the lord of Sweetsister sided with Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and her claim to the Iron Throne.

The chronicles say nothing of what the house gained or lost for that loyalty — only that Lord Borrell set his banner behind Rhaenyra during the Dance of the Dragons.
