House Hook was one of the lines that held the title of Kings of the Rivers before the Riverlands answered to a single lord, ruling over the mouth of the Blackwater Rush.
Nothing certain survives of their blood: it isn't even known whether they descended from the First Men or the Andals, and the house faded away leaving little more than its name.

Before a single throne ruled the Riverlands, House Hook was among those who wore the crown of the Kings of the Rivers. Their seat lay at the mouth of the Blackwater Rush, the same stretch of water where King's Landing would rise centuries later.
Nothing certain remains of their origin: the records don't settle whether they descended from the First Men or from the Andals who later crossed the narrow sea. The house died out for reasons that go unrecorded, leaving behind little but its name.
