House Lake was a royal house of Dorne predating the arrival of the Andals, settled along with the other families that gave the Greenblood its name. It is counted among the twelve houses whose lords came to style themselves High King of Dorne.

Before the Andals crossed the narrow sea, House Lake settled along the Greenblood and the eastern coast of Dorne. There, together with eleven other families, it took up the title of High King of Dorne.
What followed is barely certain. A rebellion broke out among those houses, and of its aftermath only this is known: three lines vanished. Whether House Lake was among them, or instead carved out a kingdom of its own, has not come down to us.
