House Lantell
Casa Lantell de Lannisport
House Lantell of Lannisport is a minor house of the Westerlands, sworn to House Lannister of Casterly Rock and settled in the port that lends its name to part of theirs.
It descends from a distant branch of the Lannisters themselves, and many of its members still carry the golden hair of their forebears.
Chapter 1
The branch that ran out of tunnels
Books only
At some point during the Age of Heroes, the Lannisters of Casterly Rock had grown so numerous that the stronghold carved into the rock could no longer house them all. Rather than dig new tunnels, sons and daughters of the most distant branches settled in a village near the Rock.
The village's favorable position let it grow into what is now Lannisport, and one of the families that put down roots there was House Lantell. They share the town with other minor lines, such as the Lannys and the Lannetts, and today serve as vassals of House Lannister.
The kinship with the parent house still shows in part of the family: half of the Lantells carry the golden hair typical of the Lannisters.
