House Rosby of Rosby
Casa Rosby de Rosby
House Rosby is a minor family of the Crownlands, seated in the village of Rosby north of King's Landing, sworn to the Baratheons who hold the Iron Throne.
Its lords turn up at several turning points in the history of the Seven Kingdoms, generally on the side that ends up losing.
Chapter 1
Surrender without a fight
Books only
When Aegon Targaryen landed to conquer Westeros, the lord of Rosby offered no resistance. He submitted to Rhaenys Targaryen and her dragon Meraxes without a single battle, and kept his lands under the new order.
Chapter 2
The wrong side of the Dance
Books only
Generations later, Lord Rosby backed Rhaenyra Targaryen's claim to the Iron Throne. Ser Criston Cole, of Aegon II's Kingsguard, took his castle, and the lord of Rosby switched sides to join the Greens.
It did him no good: when Rhaenyra retook King's Landing she named him a traitor and had him executed.
Chapter 3
Rosby's men at Whitewalls
Books only
Later, when Lord Brynden Rivers marched to Whitewalls to crush the Second Blackfyre Rebellion, soldiers of House Rosby marched among his forces.

The last Rosby

Lord Gyles Rosby dies of a coughing fit, and with him the male line of the house dies out. As many as six different claimants come forward for his lands and title afterward.
