Atranta is a castle in the Riverlands and the seat of a branch of House Vance.
Much of what is known about it comes from a single visit: that of a Targaryen king who arrived riding his dragon.

Jaehaerys I TargaryenAtranta stands in the Riverlands and is the castle that gives its name to a branch of House Vance, its lords for generations.
In 53 AC, during a progress through that same region, King Jaehaerys I Targaryen stopped at Atranta riding Vermithor. It was a brief halt within a much longer journey, but it is the only moment of the castle's history that has come down to us.
