Castle Cerwyn

Castle Cerwyn is the seat of House Cerwyn, a northern stronghold set on the western branch of the White Knife, half a day's ride from Winterfell.
Its place in the story lies less in its stones than in the ravens that pass through it: during the years of war, the castle serves as a relay point for urgent messages travelling between the North and the rest of the realm.
Chapter 1
Ser Rodrik's raven

Catelyn StarkSer Rodrik Cassel, castellan of Winterfell, chooses Castle Cerwyn as the point from which to send a raven bound for Riverrun.
The message carries word that Bran and Rickon Stark are dead, and it is there, in the Tully castle, that Lady Catelyn receives it.
Chapter 2
A raven for Castle Black
Books only
Later it is Castle Cerwyn that receives a plea for help: Maester Aemon, from Castle Black, sends a raven asking for men to hold against the coming wildling attack.
