Chequy Water
Jaquel
The Chequy Water marks the boundary between the lands of House Osgrey and House Webber, in the Reach. It rises in the Horseshoe Hills and flows into the Lago Frondoso.
It owes its place in history to a dam built across its course, which set those two houses against each other and carried their dispute all the way to trial by combat.
Chapter 1
The dammed water
Books only
On the order of Lady Rohanne Webber, the Chequy Water was dammed. Ser Eustace Osgrey, who believed he held rights over those waters, took the move as an offense against his house.
The dispute was settled by trial by combat: Ser Duncan the Tall stood for House Osgrey and Lucas Inchfield for House Webber. The outcome of the duel left the two houses reconciled.
What we are not sure about
PositionWe worked it out
The position was inferred from the label on the base map rather than from a symbol of its own: it marks the area, not the point.
