Faros
Faros is a port city on Gran Moraq, the island that opens onto the Summer Sea, built where a river finds its way to the sea.
Its name travels less for its streets than for the Stone Cows, idols worshipped by its people and the one thing that marks it out in any account of that coast.
Chapter 1
The Stone Cows
Books only
The city sits on the western coast of Gran Moraq, at the mouth of a river flowing into the Summer Sea. To the north lies the strait leading to Qarth; to the south, along the coast, is Vahar. In what little is told of it, Faros reads more as a waypoint between those two than a destination in its own right.
What is remembered of Faros is not its streets or its harbour but the Stone Cows, idols worshipped by its people and the one thing that marks the city out wherever it is mentioned.
