The Giant's Stair is a steep pass through the Frostfangs that leads up to the source of the Milkwater.
One of the ranging parties Lord Commander Jeor Mormont sent beyond the Wall in search of word of Mance Rayder climbed to its top.

Jeor MormontWhen the Night's Watch expedition made camp at the Fist of the First Men, Jeor Mormont split fifteen rangers into three groups of five to search for traces of Mance Rayder near the head of the Milkwater. One group followed the river upstream, another made for the Skirling Pass, and the third, led by First Ranger Jarman Buckwell, climbed to the top of the Giant's Stair.
