Howling Hills

Colinas Rugientes

The Howling Hills are a range of low hills in eastern Essos, on the edge of the Great Sand Sea. The name carries an ill reputation: those who cross them speak of bandits hiding among their slopes.

Chapter 1

Bandit country

Books only

The hills rise beside the Great Sand Sea, with the Plains of the Jogos Nhai as neighbors to the southeast.

No account paints them as a peaceful place: travelers who venture among their slopes say they hide bandits, and the reputation alone is enough to make most choose another road.

Chapter 2

The battle of the last giant

Books only

Legend places the battle of the Howling Hills here, where Gharak the Squint-Eyed, a jhattar of the Jogos Nhai, faced the stone giant Jhogwin.

The story says Gharak killed him, and that his death ended the line of the stone giants: Jhogwin was, according to the legend, the last of his kind.

The physical world

Tienen una siniestra reputación debido a los bandidos que por ellas vagan.
