The Ice River Clans are one of the wildling peoples living north of the Wall, settled in the icy stretch between the Frozen Shore and the Lands of Always Winter, along the river that gives them their name, though their exact location within that stretch is not fixed with precision. They are said to eat human flesh.
Before the wildlings were brought together under a single leader, the Ice River Clans fought against the Frozen Shore folk, their nearest neighbours.

As they march south, the wildlings come down from the mountains following the Milkwater into the Haunted Forest.
Among that mass of people walk the men of the Ice River Clans as well, joined to the rest of the peoples forming the column.
