The Isle of Cedars is a large island lying between the Slaver's Bay and the Gulf of Grief, dotted with three ruined cities of which only two names survive, Ghozai and Velos. Tradition holds that the Doom of Valyria sent a three-hundred-foot wave against it that levelled whatever still stood.

The Iron Fleet's wait

Victarion Greyjoy puts in at the island to wait for the bulk of the Iron Fleet, ordered to gather along its southern coast.
Before sailing on toward the Slaver's Bay, he leaves the Shark anchored behind with one task: stay and point any straggling ships toward where the fleet has gone.
