Mouths of the Rhyone
las bocas del Rhoyne
The mouths of the Rhoyne are the great delta where the Rhoynar river empties into the sea, after gathering along its course the waters of tributaries such as the Qhoyne, the Noyne, the Lhorulu and the Selhoru.
The Free City of Volantis stands on that delta, one of the southern Essos cities built at the river's mouth.
Chapter 1
The delta where Volantis stands
Books only
The Rhoyne swells as it nears the sea, fed by tributaries the Rhoynar named as daughters of the river: the Qhoyne, the dark daughter; the Noyne, the wild daughter; the Lhorulu, the laughing daughter; and the Selhoru, the shy daughter. With that strength the river opens into a great delta at its mouth.
The Free City of Volantis stands on that delta, built directly upon the mouths of the river that was the ancestral home of the Rhoynar.
The physical world
Es conocido por los piratas de río que lo ocupan como guarida. Se forma un delta gigante en su desembocadura, en el que se asienta la Ciudad Libre de Volantis.

Spanish nameWe worked it out
The Spanish name is the atlas’s own reviewed translation, not the one in the published Gigamesh edition, which does not fix it.
