Sherrer
Sherrer is a village in the Riverlands, on the bank of the Trident, with a stone keep, a stone bridge and, by all accounts, the best brewery south of the Neck.
Its name became part of the history of Westeros for what happened there at the outbreak of the War of the Five Kings, when it was among the razed villages that pushed House Tully to demand justice before the Iron Throne.

The village by the Trident

The village stands on the banks of the Trident, in the heart of the Riverlands. A stone keep looms over the houses, and a stone bridge spans the river.
Before the war reached it, Sherrer was known above all for its brewery, said to be the finest anywhere south of the Neck.
Chapter 2
The massacre at Sherrer

Gregor CleganeAt the outbreak of the War of the Five Kings, Lannister men under Ser Gregor Clegane rode in by night and put the fields, the brewery and the houses to the torch. Very few villagers survived.
Among the victims were girls of six and seven and infants killed in front of their mothers. Some villagers took refuge in the stone keep, and the attackers tried to smoke them out; they were spared only because Clegane decided there was riper fruit upriver and turned his men toward Mummer's Ford.
Lord Hoster Tully sent Ser Marq Piper, Ser Karyl Vance and Ser Raymun Darry to King's Landing together with the survivors of Sherrer, to demand justice for the villages that had been sacked and burned. The villagers arrived at court ragged and bloodied, fear still in their eyes.
Chapter 3
The trial of Sandor Clegane

Sandor CleganeYears later, when the Brotherhood without Banners captured Sandor Clegane, they put him on trial for a list of crimes. Among the charges read against him were the killings House Clegane had carried out at Sherrer and at Mummer's Ford.
