Piper

Piper was the third wife of Quellon Greyjoy, Lord Reaper of Pyke and Lord Paramount of the Iron Islands, and with him had a son, Robin, who was born with an intellectual disability.

As Lady of Pyke, her name is tied to House Greyjoy during years on the island marked by the men of the family marching off to war.

The Reaver Lord's wife

Piper married Quellon Greyjoy, becoming the third woman to hold that place beside the Lord Reaper of Pyke and Lord Paramount of the Iron Islands. The marriage produced a son, Robin, born with an intellectual disability, who did not live to adulthood.

Chapter 2

Urrigon's accident

283 ACBooks only

In 283 AC, Quellon left for war along with his elder sons, leaving young Urrigon behind at Pyke. Playing a game with his brother that involved stabbing a knife between his fingers, Urrigon lost half a hand. Piper had the maester sew his fingers back together, but the boy did not survive.

That same campaign also claimed Quellon, who died on the battlefield.

Chapter 3

The maester's punishment

On returning to the Iron Islands and learning what had happened, Balon Greyjoy cut off three of the maester's fingers and ordered Piper to sew them back on. The maester did not survive the wound.

Shortly afterward, Piper died in childbirth, delivering a daughter who was stillborn.
