Skyreach
Dominio del Cielo
Skyreach is the seat of House Fowler, raised at the point where the Prince's Pass opens into Dorne. Its stone towers watch over the Broad Way, the shortest route between the desert and the Reach.
The castle remembers two visits from Aegon Targaryen during his campaign to bring Dorne to heel, and neither one brought lasting peace to the region.
Chapter 1
The stronghold of Stone and Sky
Books only
The Fowlers, a line of First Men, built Skyreach during the Age of Heroes at the point where the Prince's Pass begins. They named it for its height and for the towers that rose above the Broad Way, the shortcut between Dorne and the Reach.
From that position the lords of the house styled themselves Kings of Stone and Sky, a title that spoke as much of the rock they built on as of the pass they controlled.
Chapter 2
The fire that wasn't enough
4 ACBooks only
In 4 AC, during the First Dornish War, Aegon Targaryen's forces burned Skyreach to the ground. It was one of the first strongholds to fall in his attempt to bring Dorne to heel, before he took Sunspear and returned to King's Landing believing the campaign settled.
It wasn't: within less than a fortnight the Dornish retook the fortresses Aegon thought his and wiped out the garrisons he had left behind, Skyreach among the strongholds lost.
Chapter 3
A second Harrenhal
10 ACBooks only
Aegon came back to Skyreach in 10 AC and swore he would reduce it to 'a second Harrenhal' with Balerion's fire.
