Stygai is a ruined city in the mountains of the Shadow Lands in Essos, northeast of Asshai. It is called the Night City, and what little is said of it tends to be secondhand — few outsiders know anything certain about the place.
City description
Stygai stands in the Ashes, deep in the heart of the Valley of Shadow. There, it's said, light reaches the ground only at midday, and the rest of the hours the city stays in darkness.
It is also called a corpse city, a name that assumes something still dwells there, though no one can say what. Demons and dragons are said to lurk near its broken walls, and even the shadowbinders who live at the valley's edge are reluctant to venture in.
