Widow's Ford is a river crossing in the Riverlands, thought to lie near Darry.
It is remembered for a desperate stand: during the Andal Invasion, the sons of a lord of Darry held the crossing against a far larger force.

A day and a night

During the Andal Invasion, the warlord Vorian Vypren marched through the Riverlands at the head of his knights. At the crossing that would later bear this name, he met the three sons of Lord Darry, who blocked his way.
The fighting went on for a full day and the night that followed. By the end, hundreds of Vypren's men lay dead at the ford — but so did the three brothers, none of whom survived the stand.
