Desmond Caron
On this tab
Ser Desmond Caron is a knight of House Caron, son of Lord Royce Caron. His name is tied to one particular episode: a journey to King's Landing to seek a vacant place among the Kingsguard, in a court where the final choice does not rest with him.
Kingsguard Vacancy
After the death of Ser Ryam Redwyne, commander of the Kingsguard, a place opens among the seven. Desmond sets out for King's Landing to put himself forward as a candidate, and along the way comes across a poacher, whom he captures and hands over to face justice.
Once at court, he is brought before Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, who thanks him for what he has done in the crown's service. The appointment, though, goes to another of the hopefuls: Ser Criston Cole.
