Royce Caron was head of House Caron, holding the titles of Lord of the Marches and Lord of Nightsong.
He held one of the seven seats on the council that ruled the realm during the minority of Aegon III Targaryen.
Origins
Elenda's Marriage
House Caron's ties to the Baratheons began when his daughter Elenda married Borros Baratheon, lord of Storm's End.
The marriage produced three granddaughters, Cassandra, Ellyn, and Floris, who would later travel with their grandfather to court.

Coronation of Aegon III
When the Dance of the Dragons came to an end in 131 AC, Lord Royce traveled to King's Landing, bringing his granddaughters Cassandra, Ellyn, and Floris along to witness the crowning of the young Aegon III Targaryen.
There he was granted a seat among the seven regents who would govern the realm while the new king remained a boy, a duty added to his titles as lord of the Marches and of Nightsong.

Return to Nightsong
A year after the coronation, in 132 AC, Lord Royce stepped down from the regency council.
The Dornish Marches were suffering increasingly frequent raids since Aliandra Martell had claimed the title of Princess of Dorne, and his presence was more needed at the border than at court.
