Mysaria

Mysaria was a dancer from Lys when she became one of Prince Daemon Targaryen's favorite women, in the years he commanded the City Watch of King's Landing. Word that King Viserys I had named his own daughter, Princess Rhaenyra, as his heir sent Daemon out of the capital in a fury: he flew to Dragonstone on Caraxes and took Mysaria with him.

On the island Mysaria fell pregnant, and Daemon gave her a dragon egg as a gift, a gesture that reached the king's ears and did not please him. Viserys ordered his brother back to his lawful wife, Lady Rhea Royce, of Runestone. Mysaria was sent back to Lys, but the ship was caught in a storm and she lost the child during the crossing; when Daemon learned of it, his quarrel with the king grew bitterer.

After Prince Lucerys Velaryon was killed at the start of the Dance of the Dragons, Mysaria hired two killers, Blood and Cheese, to take the life of young Prince Jaehaerys. Under torture, Blood admitted the job had come from a very pale woman the two men called Misery.

The gold cloaks searched the city after the killing, but neither Mysaria nor Cheese turned up. The name Blood gave up under torture was enough to point at her, though she was never made to answer for it.

At some unrecorded point, Mysaria began acting as Daemon's rumormonger. After King's Landing fell to Rhaenyra, she filled the same role for the queen herself, though she never sat on her small council or held the title outright.

Rhaenyra, it is said, allowed Daemon to share Mysaria's bed every night. The jester Mushroom further claims it was she who talked the queen out of ordering the dowager queen Alicent Hightower's tongue cut out, proposing instead that Alicent and Queen Helaena be taken to a brothel to be gotten with baseborn children; Grand Maester Gyldayn, however, casts doubt on that account.

After the first battle of Ladera, Mysaria told Rhaenyra that Daemon had been sleeping with Nettles, the queen's other dragonrider, at Poza de la Doncella. Rhaenyra ordered Nettles killed, but Lord Manfryd Mooton did not carry out the order.

Nettles vanished along with her dragon, Sheepstealer, and Daemon flew to Harrenhal on Caraxes to await a reckoning with his nephew.

After Lord Corlys Velaryon was imprisoned for warning Ser Addam that he was about to be arrested for treason, two of his sworn swords, Ser Denys Woodwright and Ser Thoron True, plotted to break him out. Mysaria learned of the plan from a whore one of the knights had bedded, and both men were soon arrested and hanged.

Septon Eustace claims that on the same day Queen Helaena threw herself from her window, Lady Misery had told her how her son Maelor had been killed.

During the riots in King's Landing, Mysaria stayed at Queen Rhaenyra's side and was the one who told her night had fallen, news that made the queen tremble. When Rhaenyra flew for Dragonstone, Mysaria remained behind in the city.

When Ser Perkin the Flea took the Red Keep, she was caught trying to flee. She was stripped and whipped through the streets, from the keep to the Gate of the Gods, promised freedom if she reached the end of the road alive. She died on the cobblestones before she got there, with less than a hand's span of skin left unbroken.
