Rhea Royce
Rhea Royce was head of House Royce of Runestone and held the title of Lady of Runestone during the reign of Viserys I Targaryen.
She is remembered above all as the first wife of Prince Daemon Targaryen, a marriage with no affection on either side that shaped the prince's relationship with her mountain house.
Chapter 1
The Bronze Bitch
From 97 ACBooks and show
Rhea married Prince Daemon Targaryen in 97 AC. The couple had no children, and neither felt any fondness for the other. Daemon took to calling her the Bronze Bitch, a name that stuck to her.
In time Rhea inherited the lordship of Runestone. When her brother-in-law Viserys I took the throne, Daemon asked him to annul the marriage. Viserys refused, and Rhea remained his wife.
Chapter 2
A Fall at Runestone
115 ACBooks and show
In 115 AC Rhea fell from her horse while hunting and struck her head against a rock. She lay in bed for nine days before feeling strong enough to rise, and died an hour after getting up.
On learning of her death, Daemon flew to the Eyrie to claim House Royce's lands, castles, and incomes. His claim was denied: Runestone passed to Rhea's nephew, not to her widower.
