Ornela
Ornela is a dothraki widow among the dosh khaleen who becomes friendly with Daenerys Targaryen during her time at the temple of the crones in Vaes Dothrak.
Her life, shaped by a marriage forced on her as a child, illustrates the usual fate of dothraki khaleesi once their khal dies. She is a character created solely for the television series.
Chapter 1
The widow from Lhazar

Daenerys TargaryenOrnela was born in Lhazar and given in marriage at twelve to a dothraki khal, becoming a khaleesi long before Daenerys did. A year later she gave birth to a daughter, and her husband broke her ribs for it. The khal died when she was sixteen, and dothraki custom sent her to live with the other widows in the temple of the dosh khaleen.
When Daenerys is brought before the high priestess, she points to Ornela to illustrate her contempt for the dosh khaleen itself, noting that the dothraki have always mixed with outsiders. Ornela's story is held up as just one more example among the temple's crones.
Chapter 2
The dragon khaleesi's friend

Jorah MormontDaenerys asks to step out of the temple for a while, and Ornela goes with her. During the walk, Daenerys jokes that her khal should have died sooner, a remark that brings a small smile to the young widow. Ornela, in turn, seems fascinated when Daenerys tells her about her dragons.
The moment breaks when Ser Jorah Mormont and Daario Naharis seize Ornela, convinced she means to betray them to the other crones. They are about to kill her, but Daenerys steps in and gets them to spare her.

Before the burning temple

Ornela arrives at the temple of the dosh khaleen after its destruction and is among the crowd that kneels when Daenerys walks out of it without a single burn.
