House Serry of Southshield
Casa Serry del Escudo del Sur
House Serry of Southshield rules one of the Shield Islands, at the mouth of the Mander, and answers to House Tyrell of Highgarden. Their position is no formality: the Shield Islands block the path of ironborn raiders and stand as the first wall between the Reach and the Iron Islands.
Their arms show a silver rose on a gules escutcheon, ringed by an embattled border of the same colour.

When Victarion Greyjoy throws his fleet against the Shield Islands, it is Ser Talbert Serry who meets him. The clash goes against Southshield: Talbert falls in the fighting, and with him goes much of the house's naval strength.
Chapter 2
The flight to Highgarden

With his son dead, Lord Osbert Serry does not stay to defend what is left of Southshield. He gathers what remains of the Serry fleet and sails for Highgarden, to take shelter under his Tyrell overlords.
