Along the northern shore of Essos lies a small bay, pinched between two spits of land, known chiefly as a breeding ground for walruses.
Its waters open onto the Shivering Sea, fed by a river that flows down from distant inland realms.
Chapter 1
Between two peninsulas

The bay sits wedged between the point held by Omber and a smaller spit of land belonging to the Kingdoms of the Ifequevron. Through that narrow stretch of water flows a river rising far to the south, in the Kingdom of Sarnor.
On its way north, the river passes the ruins of two old cities, remnants of a settlement long gone. Its waters finally empty into the Shivering Sea.

Those who once lived on the shore

Nothing remains today of those who once lived along this shore, but traces uncovered here suggest that people from Ib settled at more than one point around the bay in ages past.
