Bonetown
Ciudad de los Huesos
Bonetown is a remote settlement in Essos, built where the land gives way to the Arid Abyss. No one remembers it for its strength or its rulers, but for a rumor: that something as strange as its own name is traded there.
Surrounded by lands that barely appear on any detailed map, the city survives at the edges of Essos, among peoples and deserts almost nothing is known about.
Chapter 1
At the edge of the abyss

The city sits at the northern edge of the Arid Abyss, in a stretch of Essos that chronicles almost never name. Around it lie peoples and deserts known only through scattered mentions.
To the west stretches the land of the Shrykes; to the east, the Cannibal Sands. The Grey Waste blocks the way north, and beyond it, to the northwest, stands K'Dath, the only neighboring city with a name of its own in the tales.
Chapter 2
The bone trade

What makes the city known, if it is known at all, is a trade almost no one speaks of with certainty: old bones, hauled up from the bottom of the abyss and sold like any other good.
Some swear the city itself is built of stacked bone, not stone. No one telling the story has ever actually been there.
