Marahai Bay

Marahai Bay is the crescent-shaped inlet traced by the island of Marahai, in the Jade Sea, with two small volcanic islands rising from its waters.
Almost nothing survives of it beyond the account of a single traveler: Corlys Velaryon, who visited it and left behind the description by which it is remembered today.

Corlys VelaryonCorlys Velaryon put in at the bay during his voyages across the Jade Sea and remembered it in his letters as something almost unreal: a green crescent ringed by twin islands of fire.
By his account, the peaks of those two volcanic islands never stopped belching molten rock, day and night, while Marahai itself lay calm between them.

The Spanish name is the atlas’s own reviewed translation, not the one in the published Gigamesh edition, which does not fix it.
