The Red Flower Vale is a region on the island of Jhala, in the Summer Isles, cut through by a river that empties into the Summer Sea.
Its name reached Westeros attached to an exile: the man who once ruled it spent the rest of his life far from home, trying without success to win it back.
Chapter 1
The prince who lost his vale

Jalabhar Xho had been prince of this vale before he was driven out of it. Exile took him all the way to King's Landing, to the court of Robert Baratheon, where he sought the Iron Throne's help to win his lands back.
The answer he got, again and again, was no. Every request he made was turned down, and the prince settled in the city, far from the vale that carried his name.
