Skane

Skane is a desolate island in the Bay of Seals, neighbor to Skagos, its windswept hills and crumbling ruins long since given over to weeds.

No one lives there now, but its name surfaces in connection with a shipwreck during the Night's Watch effort to save the wildlings trapped after the Battle of Castle Black.

Chapter 1

The Feast of Skane

Books only

Legend holds that long ago the people of Skagos crossed the water to Skane. They took the women, killed the men, and ate the bodies on a beach of pebbles.

The feast lasted fifteen days and gave the event its name. Of the island's former inhabitants nothing remains but windswept hills, rocky shores, and ruins slowly disappearing under weeds. Skane is uninhabited to this day.

Chapter 2

The Stranded Lysene Ships

Books only

Eastwatch-by-the-Sea sends eleven ships toward Hardhome to rescue the wildlings who survived the Battle of Castle Black. Two Lysene vessels sail among that fleet.

A raven reaches Castle Black with word that those two Lysene ships have run aground off Skane, short of finishing their rescue voyage.
