Snakewood

Bosque de la Serpiente

Snakewood is the castle of a minor house of the Vale of Arryn, raised on the eastern coast of Westeros, facing the Narrow Sea.

Its importance lies not in its strength or its name, but in its position: it sits along the route of anyone travelling between the Fingers and the Eyrie.

Chapter 1

Between mountains and sea

Books only

The castle stands in the Vale of Arryn, on the eastern coast of Westeros, with the Narrow Sea breaking against the nearby shore.

Mountains separate it from Coldwater Burn to the north, while Home lies to the southwest, with no such barrier in between.

Chapter 2

The retinue that crossed the Vale

Books only

After marrying Petyr Baelish at his small stronghold in the Fingers, Lysa Tully set out on her return to the Eyrie with her new household, her niece Sansa Stark among them.

The retinue passed by Snakewood along the way, the chronicle pausing there only long enough to name it.
