Steel Road
el Camino del Acero
The Steel Road is one of the three great caravan routes crossing the Bones, guarded by the city of Kayakayanaya and running toward Vaes Dothrak.
Its name comes from the countless battles fought along its swaying bridges and underground passages, scars from centuries of clashes between the Jogos Nhai riders and the warrior women who hold the pass.
Chapter 1
A pass beneath the peaks

Of the three trade routes crossing the Bones toward the Further East, this is the one that runs beneath the range's highest peaks, over bridges that sway above the drop and through passages cut into the rock underground.
The road ends at Vaes Dothrak, and at its other end stands Kayakayanaya, the city that watches over it and forms its only safe crossing point.
Chapter 2
The enmity that will not end

For generations, various jhattars of the Jogos Nhai have marched their hosts along this road, and every one of those attempts has ended the same way: broken against Kayakayanaya's walls.
That string of failures bred a long-standing grudge between the horse-lords and the warrior women defending the city, a standoff that has never been settled either way.
The Moon Singers still sing of a day still to come when their people will finally cross the mountains and claim the fertile lands beyond.
