Targaryen Islands

las Islas Aegon, Rhaenys y Visenya

Southwest of Westeros, out in the Summer Sea, three islands sat off every map until a shipwreck put them there. They are the westernmost land known to exist, farther out than even the Long Light, and no one lives on them.

Chapter 1

The land nobody was looking for

56 ACBooks only

Nobody was looking for them because nobody knew they were there: they lie so far off the shipping lanes, across open ocean to the west, that for centuries they weren't even a rumor. They were found by accident, in the year 56 AC, by three ships that weren't hunting new land but running from a storm.

Alys Colina commanded the Buscaelsol; sailing with her were Ser Eustace Hightower aboard the Lady Meredith and Ser Norman Hightower aboard the Autumn Moon. The storm sank the Autumn Moon outright and left the Lady Meredith badly damaged. The Buscaelsol had run on west ahead of the others, and once the storm broke its crew spotted coastal birds and followed them to land.

From there they doubled back for the Lady Meredith and towed the crippled ship to shore. They stayed fifteen days patching hulls and restocking water and food before putting back out to sea. Since the islands were on no map and there were three of them, Alys named them for the Conqueror and his two queens.

Chapter 2

Three islands, no one on them

Books only

Of the three, the middle one is the largest, a mountain flanked by two lesser hills; even so it doesn't reach a third the size of Dragonstone. Springs and streams give them plenty of fresh water, which isn't a given on an island lost in the middle of the ocean.

No one has ever settled them. What they do have is wild boar and grey lizards as big as deer, whose bite festers easily. Their trees bear edible nuts and a pink fruit found nowhere else.

The physical world

Los árboles están cargados de nueces comestibles y frutas rosas, especias desconocidas en otras tierras.
