Norman Hightower

In the year 56 after the Conquest, during the reign of Jaehaerys I Targaryen, Norman Hightower sailed from Oldtown with his brother Ser Eustace on an unusual venture: accompanying Lady Elissa Farman, travelling under the false name of Alys Colina, in her search for new lands across the sea. Norman commanded his own ship, the Autumn Moon.

Lord Donnel Hightower, grandfather to both brothers, received a raven from the Iron Throne ordering Elissa's arrest and her return in chains to King's Landing. By the time he moved to carry it out, the ships had already left port.

Twelve days later, sailing southwest of Westeros, the fleet ran into fierce storms. Some sailors aboard the Lady Meredith, Eustace's ship, later claimed that a kraken had dragged the Autumn Moon to the bottom of the sea with Norman still aboard.
