The Torentine is a river in Dorne that forms where two tributaries meet in the Red Mountains and empties into the Summer Sea. Its clear, sweet waters rush down so fast and loud that the only safe crossing is by bridge, and along its course stand the castles of Blackmont, High Hermitage and Starfall.

Kings of the Torrentine
It is said that the founder of House Dayne followed a falling star to the river's mouth and built Starfall there. From that island, the Daynes ruled as kings of the Torentine from the days of the First Men.
That rule ended with the defeat of King Vorian Dayne in Nymeria's war.

Search for Aerea
Some claimed to have seen Rhaena Targaryen and her dragon Dreamfyre as far south as the Red Mountains.
The sightings placed the pair in the Torentine's canyons, during the search for the missing Aerea Targaryen.
