Tumbledown Tower

Torre Derruida

Tumbledown Tower is a ruined watchtower in the Wolfswood, in the North, abandoned for thousands of years. Moss and ivy hide an entrance that is hard to find, along with a damp underground vault, making it a good hideout for anyone who needs to go unnoticed.

A group of fugitives stopped there after the fall of Winterfell, and it was the place where a decision was made that would take them beyond the Wall.

Chapter 1

The fugitives' hideout

Books only

No one has set foot here in thousands of years. Tumbledown Tower is an old watchtower in the Wolfswood that neglect has buried under moss and ivy, to the point that its entrance is hard to find. Underground it hides a damp vault where a person can go unnoticed, and there is no village nearby to give away anyone hiding there. Around it there is only forest thick with game, and the nearby rivers and lakes are full of fish and frogs.

When Ramsay Bolton destroyed Winterfell, Bran Stark fled north together with Hodor, Meera Reed and Jojen Reed, and during that journey the group came upon the tower. Bran was the one who named it, and Meera was the one who worked out how to hide in its cellar. It was there, among those ruins, that Bran decided he would go beyond the Wall to find the three-eyed raven.
