Craghas Drahar

Craghas Drahar was a Myrish prince who put his troops at the service of the Triarchy — the alliance of Lys, Myr, and Tyrosh — when it marched its armies west to seize the Stepstones. The archipelago controlled the trade routes crossing the Narrow Sea, and whoever held it could charge tolls on any ship that passed through.

During that campaign he earned the nickname the Crabfeeder: he impaled hundreds of captured pirates on the beaches so the rising tide would drown them, and the crabs finished off what was left. With the pirates wiped out, Drahar and his men settled in the Stepstones and began charging a toll on ships passing through those waters.

For a time the lords of Westeros welcomed the defeat of the pirates and paid those tolls without complaint.

Years later, the greed of Craghas and his Lyseni and Tyroshi partners drove the tolls to outrageous levels. Lord Corlys Velaryon, one of the hardest hit, allied himself with Prince Daemon Targaryen, who was then looking to carve out a realm of his own, and together they attacked the Stepstones in 106 AC.

The Triarchy suffered defeat after defeat over the next two years, until Craghas finally came face to face with Daemon Targaryen, who beheaded him with his sword, Dark Sister.
