Lorent Marbrand
Ser Lorent Marbrand wore the white cloak of the Kingsguard under King Viserys I Targaryen, and when the crown passed to his daughter, he took charge of the knights guarding Queen Rhaenyra.
His name became tied to the harshest years of the Dance of the Dragons, when King's Landing turned dangerous even for those meant to rule it.

An oath at Dragonstone

Rhaenyra TargaryenLorent was already a sworn brother of Viserys I's Kingsguard when the king died; at the time he was at Dragonstone. On hearing the news, he pledged himself to Princess Rhaenyra, who claimed the throne, at the start of the conflict that would come to be called the Dance of the Dragons.

Addam of HullAfter King's Landing fell to Rhaenyra's supporters, the queen removed Ser Steffon Darklyn from the post of Lord Commander of the Queensguard and gave it to Lorent, charging him with gathering six knights worthy of serving at his side.
On the Privy Council he backed Lord Bartimos Celtigar's view that Addam Velaryon and Nettles could not be trusted, a suspicion that arose out of the Betrayals at Ladera.
Chapter 3
Flea Bottom
130 AC
When the capital rose in riots, Lorent led a hundred knights and soldiers into Flea Bottom. Of them, only sixteen came back; he was not among them.
Ser Glendon Goode recovered his body and inherited the post of Lord Commander as a result. According to the fool Mushroom, Rhaenyra wept on learning how Lorent had died.
