Lyonel Corbray
Lyonel Corbray is the Lord of Heart's Home and head of House Corbray, one of the great houses of the Vale of Arryn.
His story is told through two marriages and an old family dispute over his father's sword, in the years when Petyr Baelish rules the Vale as Lord Protector.
Chapter 1
The heir of Heart's Home

Lyonel was born around 260 AC at Heart's Home, his house's seat in the Vale of Arryn. He was Lord Corbray's eldest son, and grew up with two younger brothers, Ser Lyn and Ser Lucas.
Chapter 2
The sword he did not inherit
Books only
At the Battle of the Trident, Lord Corbray was wounded. Lyonel carried him off the field to the maesters in the rear, while his brother Lyn stayed behind, took up their father's sword Lady Forlorn, and charged the Dornish lines.
Lord Corbray did not survive the battle: the lordship and lands of Heart's Home passed to Lyonel, while Lady Forlorn stayed with Lyn. Lyonel never accepted the split, insisting that as the elder son the sword should have been his.

A Lord Protector and a well-attended wedding

Petyr BaelishWhen Petyr Baelish came to the Vale as Lord Protector, a group of lords known as the Lords Declarant tried to remove him from the post. Lyonel did not join them.
After his first wife's death, he remarried, this time to a sixteen-year-old girl, the daughter of a wealthy Gulltown merchant; Littlefinger himself arranged the match, and the bride, not being highborn, brought a substantial dowry with her.
The wedding, a well-attended affair, saw the surprise arrival of Lord Benedar Belmore, who had recently made peace with Baelish.
